Something for Missed to work with
Bit of vertical but I think I can iron that out.
So I still have a bit of work to do but it's a start.
You will have the pick of this one or the 6bra which I think is coming along well.
Cheers

I did say it would be competitive.
The 6bra should be better, I hope. Still sorting powder pill combos for it.

Re: Something for Missed to work with
Thanks fellas.
It is a Matt Paroz barrel job, so thats a head start.I took this barrel off and put it away because I was unhappy with the powder batches I had. I had a really slow batch of 2217 and a rather erratic lot of 2213sc so I shot them out in other rifles. Bit happier with the new powder batches I have now.
Looking forward to trying some RE23 in this just to see.
cheers

Looks very promising Grant. I will be keen to see the results with the Re23.

Jealous.
Thought I had a great load for my 260 ai. Loaded some up to hunt. Test fired a few. Primers flattened but still an edge but pronounced ejector mark on the case head. Only difference between these and the test rounds was loaded with a drop tube so the charge is nots compact so no crunching noise when seating the pill.
Reduce powder or stop using the drop tube?

Re: Something for Missed to work with
I have only had one tub of re26, due to availability here.
Did all the cases behave the same or did it get worst as you fired a string? I know it's supposed to be temp solid but I had some issues in shots 8,9,10 in a couple of strings.
Tony may chip in here as I think he has much more knowledge.
I would run a few through without the tube and see as it's the simple thing to return to your test loads.
Or get some 23 and see how it goes.
Cheers

Where abouts are you located Macca? Have NIOA run out of Re26?macca wrote:I have only had one tub of re26, due to availability here.

Might be able to get the local to order some in. Normally only takes a week or so.

Re: Something for Missed to work with
North of Goulburn mate.
LGS doesn't stock and RDT hasn't been able to get it for the last 3 months. Safari usually has it but said was temporarily out of stock.
But who knows.
Was happy with RE23 in the 7mm mag and hoping the 280AI likes it.
Your Canberra area Dash? Who do you get it from?
Cheers

Re: Something for Missed to work with
I get mine through Tough Gear. Picked up 2xRe22 and 1xRe25 on Saturday although I ordered 2xRe25 so they are getting another one in for me. I can ask tomorrow if you like?macca wrote:North of Goulburn mate.
