Weird looking setup, those strings would be a pain in the arse in the bush.

Is that an electronically activated trigger mechanism?

If so, keep it. You’ll be the coolest tactard at the range :lol

Not when its surrounded by 62 tonnes of Tank at the range.

Too main stream.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Its actually used as part of a sight confirming tool - it screws into an adaptor for the 120mm main gun.

Kinda like a sub-cal tube, that you see sometimes for a 22RF to 12Ga.

So it fires a round that duplicates the trajectory of the main gun?

In essence yes - "I am no expert here".
But how it was explained to me was its used after bore sighting, to confirm your sight arrangements - prior to firing two different natures, of main 120mm ammo.

i.e. practice rounds of Sabot and HE.

The SLAP-T .50cal round that is used to mimic the prac sabot is a mean looking lil fecker too...

Saboted Light Armour Penetrating - Tracer.
.30 cal tungsten anti Sambar round.

Depends on if Trev is ok with bipod marks on the roof, as well as a new windscreen after each nights diesel stalking.

Where do you source the bipod for a 120mm stock?

Have put a few of those rounds thru an AI 50cal AMR. Managed to get penetration of 28mm thick steel at 1200M with these rounds.

They certainly make sparks fly!

Looks impressive in the late arvo but an absolute bee-atch for starting fires!

Under thermal its even better, but any trace is a fire risk really.

The end results are as you said - pretty impressive too. They zip through the old leopards pretty well.
