Will look great when you refinish the stock.
So how much faster for the same projectile than a 300 Weatherby?

110’s are actually slower. :(
150’s and 160’s should be about 100-150 fps faster.
Haven’t shot anything heavier out of my 300 but 180’s and 200’s should also be 150 - 200 fps faster or there abouts.

Might have to button it off a bit (one or 2 grains). Extractor marks on the case head is not a good sign.

ADI max is 116 grains of 2225 behind a 165 grain SST. First load was 113 grains. Should have given me 3380 fps.
Will pull the other loads I had to test (114 & 115 grains).

Bloody perfect. Lol
Normally only test 1 or two for speed. Then 3 for a group.

How about trying some different powders to get the 110s up to speed? They would be entertaining on rabbits.

I’m with Rod. You need to get 110’s sorted. The most amazing disappearing trick I have ever seen involved 110’s out of a 300WSM.

I’ll look for the vids just for some motivation for you.

If memory serves I think I got around 4100 fps with the 110’s in my .300 Weatherby. Never shot anything with them though it was just for the speed test.
Have now got some 2218 to test with courtesy of a very generous Glenn so will see how that goes with the heavier projectiles to start. Just want something that groups under an inch at this stage.

Finally some light at the end of the long tunnel. After playing around with 2225, Re25 and 2218 with 180 BT’s, Sierra’s and 212 grain ELD-X’s I’ve finally found a load it likes. Glenn was very generous in letting me test with some 2218 that I can’t get in shops anywhere local.
Re25 combined with 180 grain BT shows good promise. Might see what an extra grain or two does to the group size.

Have you bagged anything with it yet? I remember the rabbit explosions your 26 Nosler caused, I reckon this beast will be even more, ummmm, entertaining.

Nothing bagged as yet. Have finally found a load that gives decent accuracy and respectable speed (not as fast as hoped but not too bad).
Was hoping to get a fallow or red with it but they didn’t want to play ball.
Might have to be a rabbit in Sept. lol
