Nearly there

Post by trevort »

Well I’ve got a scope on the 260ai. It’s getting close. Still no bloody magazine and the bushing I bought is too big. Right sized bushing is in the mail and the magazine is supposedly in the country.

Might get to shoot it one day

Why did you go 260AI and not Creedmoor?

Or shouldn't I ask?
Cheers...

You beat me to it on the "needsmoor" Trev.
Good choice Trev. T3 action with long mag to seat the bullets waaay out. Looking forward to seeing some results. You need some Reloder 26. Trust me, you really really need that powder. High speed, low pressure, no brainer.

I'll likely be pulling a T3 35Whelen apart at a later date ... will go back to a Varmint configuration but 6.5x47Lap. Is the Lap now forgotten?

Cheers...

Trev 48 grains of Re26, 210Ms and 130 RDF out of my vanilla 260 runs around 3050 fps from a 26 inch TrueFlite. No stress on anything. Formed 308 Lap cases were used.
Do not go the small rifle primer route. The click bang is very unnerving and the groups in my attempt were horrible. Possibly from the eyes being shut

I have loads of standard lap 308 brass and have 100 formed down for the son in law who has a 260 ai to get off the ground too. My chamber is too tight for anything that has been fired in another rifle so I have 50 virgin 260 cases.

No small primers
