Re: .224 AR
Wouldn’t a 224 Grendel just be a 22 PPC?

Re: .224 AR
Water capacity:
22 AR - 36.0gr
22ppc - 32gr
What that means in powder depends on the type of powder but i think it will be less than 4gr.

Re: .224 AR
So would it be better to start with a 7.62x39 to achieve something with a more significant difference?Seddo wrote:Water capacity:

Re: .224 AR
Trev,
All of them are based on that case. I don't believe there is a longer case with the same head diameter, a slightly longer case would be the 30 Remington that the 22 Valkyrie and 6.8spc were based on but even through its a fair bit longer it has a base that's slightly smaller than the PPC. I think the only way to get more capacity it to go to a 250 based wildcat.
The upside of a 22 Grendel is you can just use 220 Russian with a false shoulder and fire form, a lot easier than stuffing around with Grendel cases.

Re: .224 AR
Scott I thought the russki case was longer than a grendel or ppc. Is a Grendel 39 long?
