Why didn't I think of that. I took the barrel off and used one of those Irwin quick clamps. Wow there is some force there! It's together now, and cocks fine. Thanks

Chrono results:
Lo: 474.3
Hi: 557.2
Av: 532.0
ES: 82.98
SD: 24.22
557.2
556.6
547.8
549.3
474.3
522.5
520.5
528.7
528.1
545.2
I need to change pellets ASAP, only realised last night that the Meisterkugeln 7gr would be too light (pistol pellet), probably nothing locally available though
Otherwise it's nice and smooth to shoot, no rattle, twang or any nastiness. It just needs to be shot more. I'll still look at the breech seal at some stage, maybe some cosmetics on the stock, we shall see.

I wouldn't sweat over the 7gr Meisterkugeln pistol pellets TBH. 1gr off average weight in a little rifle won't hurt anything. As long as they fit snug.

That weight is ideal for it
Nothing over 8 gns
It’s a little gun
Good numbers !!!

The fit is a bit loose actually, they will try to fall out of the breech. I'll plan to try some H&N FTTs or JSB Exacts when I can get a hold of them.

Those pellets are too heavy
You’ll kill the spring!
I liked Beeman Silver Bears which were 7.1gns
The closest is H&N Hollow Point
They fit nicely
I think they’re out of production now
Could try H&N Terminators 7.25 gns
Or JSB Express 7.9
I’d also try H&N Match Hi Speed 7.55 gns

Re: Gecado (Diana) Mod. 22 in .177
Just an update for those still playing along at home.
I made a gasket using automotive gasket paper (.75mm thick) that fits under the breech seal to provide a tighter fit. I was confident that the customairseals breech seal is doing the job. To confirm this I connected a hand-vacuum pump to the end of the barrel and confirmed there was no leaks from the piston or breech. I did also try using the o-rings that LRW sent with the new spring but unfortunately they just won't going to work due to the sizing, thanks though! Maybe an o-ring of about 5 - 6mm ID with a thicker section MIGHT work, it would definitely be convenient to be able to use an o-ring for servicing.
The power level is definitely dropping away(?) as it settles in and the consistency is on the rise, probably over 100 pellets down the tube now. Using the same pellets but deep seated using a ball point pen the current results are:
Lo 466.5
Hi 484.0
Av 476.4
ES 17.82
SD 5.47
466.2
483.7
484.0
474.1
478.3
473.6
480.1
471.9
477.0
475.0
Now I'm changing my mind whether the gasket is helping or hindering, I'll be back in a bit.

hard to tell, without the gasket the average is up about 10fps but so is the ES and SD, 10fps is probably within the margin of error, temperature change etc.
