Ignore this johno. Camel is on the money though I usually choose 1 thousand of neck tension. A nitride bushing is around $50

There is obviously a lot more factors involved ie if you turn or not and your loaded ammo minus 2 thou needs to still fit your chamber

I was going through be a smart star and ask johno for video evidence of quite possibly being the first person to have a major failure due to the wrong size bushing in a factory chamber however he didn’t actually stipulate that it was a factory chamber

So you think i might have a neck tension issue than GlennGlenn wrote:1 thou neck tension is fine for BR shooting from a bench but for hunting its not enough.trevort wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:59 pmDSD wrote:Neck size is probably stamped on the barrel, if not go off of std size

I have had projectiles push into cases in the magazine with 1 thou neck tension, my minimum is 3 thou now.

Re: Redding Competition Neck Die
If you are going for 1 thou then al your necks need to be turned so you know you have a thou. But then I only found out recently that bushing neck dies may detract from accuracy if you don’t neck turn

When I got these out to take the photo Marlee(3yo) got all excited and when I wasn’t looking pinched 1 out of the box and then started asking me why the orange pencil wasn’t working.Glenn wrote:That is exactly what happened to me with 1 thou neck tension Dave!DSD wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 5:11 pmSo you think i might have a neck tension issue than GlennGlenn wrote:1 thou neck tension is fine for BR shooting from a bench but for hunting its not enough.trevort wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:59 pmDSD wrote:Neck size is probably stamped on the barrel, if not go off of std size

I have no idea what tension these were at, was from a cheap collet die that must have been a bit big in the decapping rod.
