School me on FP Springs

Post by Rabbitz »

I have a couple of Sportco Clubman 22's which appear to be in need of new FP Springs. (Sadly, I have a third on the way but it is lacking a bolt and as such I hope to use it as a source of bits).

Now I realise these won't be of the shelf items per se.

The current springs are 5mm OD and one is 75mm long, the other 80mm.

What other information do I need to get a reasonable replacement?

Also, where would I start looking for such a spring?

About 11 years ago I asked a similar question for my Model 40. At the time there was an Australian website claiming to have various Sportco firing pin springs available and I stupidly didn't follow up on it.

So, if you do plan on chasing some down let me know and I'll pull my spring out and take some measurements.

My guess is that Sportco didn't use a million different spring sizes on the 22's so....if you plan on ordering any I'd be interested in joining in on the purchase.

IIRC Missed has a model 43, I wonder if the spring is similar to either your's or mine...

I found this guy:

I think I'll make the investment.

Once I get it I'll measure it up and you can make a guess as to whether it would fit.
