Mick are you going to shoot blind or marked?
Because we are shooting blind we might use a sighter on each wind condition in the 6 minute sighter period so if they reappear in the 10 minute score period we can adjust to it.
Most also shoot their last sighter as a last read and barrel warmer combo.

My intent is to get there first - then get some advice on the day as well, however blind is the "aim"

Re: 2019 600/1000 IBS Australian LRBR Championships
I probably used a few moore than I might have done if the conditions had been better. Shooting blind is different than shooting "F" Class as I do also, as you can use your previous shot as a "sighter"! In the detail at 1000 that I shot Saturday, the wind went from 1 minute left to 6 minutes right for last sighter. After record target came up wind changed back to left. I waited some time for it to go right but it did not so put 1 left back on and kept them all on paper which was an achievement for the weekend. Similar for the target I shot Sunday morning.
So at times you have to burn sighters.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Mick
Typically for Townsville when shooting LG at 1000 I allow 12 rounds per target which is 5 for record and 7 sighters. Normal outcome is 5 or 6 sighters used so I take 3 or 4 rounds home. These become my barrel warmers / foulers at the next match. For Narromine I usually allow 2 extra sighters just in case the conditions require them
You may not use all the sighters if conditions are consistent however if it is changeable you will have enough sighters to try and get a read so you are not left guessing or wishing you had more.
Other alternative is just take your reloading gear then you will never run out

Thursday Friday Saturday - ExtraVision - Optimus Projectiles - GunPro 1000yd BR - 2 targets per day

Re: 2019 600/1000 IBS Australian LRBR Championships
some might be remember and be aware that 2019 marks the 10th year anniversary of our International 1000yd BR Postal Matches and the establishment of our unique LRBR relationship with the IBS and the Virginia 1000yd BR Club.
as a means of commemorating this achievement, for 2019 we have been granted permission to incorporate the traditional club colours of the Virginia 1000yd BR Club into the design of the 2019 SCC caps.
so, we will leave it to Karl at "Jokers Ink" Dubbo to use his artistic talents to come up with a "Special Motif and Design on the 2019 SCC Caps".
some might also remember, that a number of years ago, we were also the 1st non American LRBR group to have our version of the American IBS Screamer Patch recognized and now known as " SMILEY PATCHES .
speaking of which, as none have been awarded for a while, it would be nice to dust the cobwebs off our stock and send them to any worthy Australian IBS HG or LG 1000yd BR recipients !!
cheers

Big thanks to Gunpro. Looks like they are re-investing some of the hundreds of dollars I spent there in August. Will have to try harder to win one.
Cheers,
Trevor.

at the moment, I am making inquiries to see if I can find someone to place a classy sticker/ID etc on the scope cases to signify the IBS 600yd BR success by the winners.
hey trev
when you see that TZ man, can you ask if he needs a few spotting scopes to go with his numerous esky lunch boxes ???
