Re: 2019 600/1000 IBS Australian LRBR Championships
Is there a link to the rules etc so I can look up the round count needed for 600 v 1000 yard shoots?
For example:
the 600yd BR will remain a 4 target single day event. - 7 details (5 per detail)) - I am assuming a 5 shot score (plus sighters) per target = 20 scoring rounds?
the 1000yd BR will entail 2 targets per day - ( 6 target match) - 8 details ( 5 per detail) - here its a little murkier..... 2 targets per day but its a 6 target match over 2 days.
Cheers.

1000 yards will be six targets over three days.
Light gun (17lb and under) 30 scoring rounds.
Heavy gun 60 scoring rounds.
Sighter targets are for six minutes at 1000 .
I usuall use 3 to 5 but I did use 8 or 9 on one target when the wind was changing left to right as well as changing speed.

Cheers macca - so theoretically 100 rounds would be sufficient for LG to shoot both 600 & 1000 yards.macca wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:49 am 1000 yards will be six targets over three days.

Yep. I took 150 so I could practice a bit on Thursday. That was also fireforming some new brass.

I feel that 100 would be bare minimum. 150 would be safe. More so if conditions are similar.
I shot 54 in 600 including a few practice shots the day before, and 63 at 1000, including a few on the practice day before. That was for light gun.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Not knocking but genuine question - for 50 scoring shots you would take 100 "practice shots"????Old Trev-39 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:10 pm I feel that 100 would be bare minimum. 150 would be safe. More so if conditions are similar.

Re: 2019 600/1000 IBS Australian LRBR Championships
At Narromine I shot 88 rounds in LG.
That was on 8 targets.
So technically if we had shot the ten targets I would have used at least 110.
So you might want 120-150.
Give me a kick in the bum Mick for forgetting the other 2 targets.

Also to the above Trev only shot LG whereas I shot HG immediately before my LG so got a bit of a preview of the wind affect.
So maybethats why I used less rounds.

All good - i am just confussed (slightly different to befuddled) as to the 66% increase of practice shots to scoring shots.
Coming from a TR "background" its really strange. From 2x sighters that you can convert to score (or cut) and then shooting a total of 10 scored rounds.
To using 2x more practice and sighters than you have shots to score.
