Well I am still loading. Need a quick load test tomorrow. New barrel won't shoot better then moa on average.Have to swap back to the old one. Was hoping a change of pills would help but no go.RDavies wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 5:30 pm Now it is all getting real close and people have likely finished loading or even are on their way for to the SCC.
So what is all the hot gossip, rumours, scandals and innuendo? Anything interesting from those on the way?
At least the weather looks fine, but as expected winds are forecast to be up a little.

284 . Doesn't like Bergers or sierras.
Re: 2018 1000yd BR SCC and 600yd BR
Rod the gossip is that the bc of the 105 RDF is understated, as posters on the PRS blogs have been clanging on about. I shot four bullet brands head to head at 600 yards last weekend. Ten shot groups that aggregated 2.1 inches. Nothing world beating but what was startling was the elevation and less drift of the RDF. For scoring it is a standout. For grouping it ran second to another brand. Comparisons at 1K from the US of the Inbred and RDF @ 3050 fps have the RDF 1.5 MOA flatter, so somewhere in the 0.280 to 0.290 G7 bc range, and somewhat better than the advertised number.
What i noticed was the lack of drift. There was very little compared to the other three bullets. The website claim of wind resistant may not be all sales hype. They are an unusual bullet in that they appear dual ogived, stumpy at the nose that comes to a tiny meplat. Very tiny.
But like all non custom bullets, they are made on multiple dies. Three that i could determine in my lot. Mixed they shoot poorly at around half MOA and are ideal for steel plate PRS style. Qualified on length, ogive at multiple sectors and bearing length, they shoot good. If they sold them made on single die lots, they could be the best commercial bullet out there.
I can see why these and the 130 grain 6.5s are sought after.

Magnificent prizes as usual.
Thanks to all the sponsors and to Dave for his tireless work to make this event bigger and better each year.
Really makes the trip to the "cow paddock in the middle of nowhere " a lot of fun. The company is fun too

While I'm not into any competition shooting, due to a lack of skill, it is great to see the support being offered by people like Extravision. Hard to find dedicated sponsors helping people out.
