Mechpro Inverter Welder

Post by curan »

Has anyone had experience with a Mechpro 140AMP Inverter Welder? Model MPWINV141?

I'm thinking of upgrading from my old tranformer welder and want something lightweight for small jobs here and there....

Dunno about that specific welder, but the boss has a blue one, probably CIG, they are a neat bit of gear for doing light jobs, handyman kind of stuff, we have welded up a heap of gates and yard panels with it. :D

Well, they had one left in stock locally, gave me a good price coz it was the last, and so it's now in the shed. I'll do a write up once I've had a bit of a play.....

They are bloody handy, we quite often use the bosses hooked up to a generator when doing repairs on the yards at the shearing shed, just hang it over your shoulder and drag the ext lead along behind. You can drive them with a 3.5kva gen set, would probably work on a 2.5kva set, but we havent tried it on that one yet. :D It will work with either 2.5 or 3.2mm rods.

Nice.

When you have a play, let us know if you think it would be suitable for someone who has zero experience to get and use for handyman type stuff.

No worries. It will be a couple of weeks away before I get a play (back to work, bugga).
