$55 kg in Sydney for ADI not checked locally. I'm sure the latest Owen's gun new letter has ADI tubs for $39

I never complained too much about the cost until I realised that ADI powders (with Hodgdon badge) are cheaper in USA than over here, despite the added extra shipping and paperwork etc to land it over there. Has anyone seen Alliant AR-Comp over here?

So the lesson here is when someone comments on wearing barrels out with hot cartridges it's neither here or there
Every thing else is a lot more costly

Barrels are a consumable item too though.

This is the bit I don't understand.

Who, in this day and age, has the time to wear out a barrel?

You must be assuming they mean by shooting it!
It is far quicker to wear them out cleaning them, don't need as much powder that way

Never owned a rifle(except the 3 I sold back to mistit) that I haven't worn the barrel out on including a 375 H&H and a 460 weatherby . My target rifles get heaps but every hunting rifle has had at least 2.
As I once said in another topic I no longer work out the cost of shooting. If I did I would probably stop and be a miserable but wealthier person.
As to powder prices here they are $47.20 for a lb reloader 15/17. ADI varies a lot from shop to shop. $49 to $60 for 2209 etc.

I think Dan might be meaning 500g, or 1.1lb in the old scale. :D

Went in to Lgs today to get 2209, bread and butter powder. None in stock, 640 on back order, ADI not supplying. NIOA have apparently been delisted, poor performance, not surprising since anything they touch doubles in price, look at Lapua brass for example. Winchester now handle, and say they will be increasing to at least $60 per 500g, and getting rid of 4 kg, as they take too much space.

We are being thoroughly ripped off, bastards.
