This fellow has very well explained videos. The leather strop he uses gives a very sharp edge and is simple to make and use.
Patience is the key, keep the angle, dont rush and make sure you raise that burr on the edge.

Have found victorinox knives sharpen up fairly well but for some reason I bought a heap of swibo knives and I find them sometimes a bit stubborn to take an edge and don’t get real sharp. Only using a lansky kit, shameful I know but it’s hard to sit down and sharpen properly with a 3 year old boy who copies everything and I mean everything you try to do. He is fun at the gun shop though.
Swibo knives are a very hard steel once sharp stay that way but once the edge dies down they take a lot of work to bring back.
Victorinox are softer and are easier to keep sharp for this reason.
The harder the steel in the knife the finer the steel needed to keep them sharp( course steels will actually break the fine edge off of a hard knife ).
