Anyone got a Sherman shortmag?

Just wondering if anyone has come across the Sherman cartridge. Based of the rem SAUM case. Calibres from 22 up to 375.
Anyone hear of them or know of anyone that has one chambered.

It’s about 4gr smaller than a standard saum achieves the same velocity with less powder and less throat erosion. The reamer is mine and was originally spec’s to use wsm brass but I’ve now switched to saum as it’s easier to form. Dave kerr in Perth built both of mine and they hammer. The photo is my f class rifle at 800m. The x is 127mm in diameter.

Do you need to neck turn for these cases? And fire form?
Or is it just a simple process of making brass from saum brass run through a form die?what projectile were you using and rough idea of velocity. Very impressive shooting I must say!
And a question with the reamer - do you still have it and would you be interested in selling this. If not, you ordered it to your specs but if I wanted to get one made, would I be able to get one done easily and who would I go through?
Many questions I know, but hope you don't mind sharing your knowledge.

Hi All,
I have found the standard 7 SAUM to be extremely accurate and for me the modified versions aren't noticeably more accurate, more to do with tuning and barrel management.
At the SA queens last week Rod Davies shot a 60:10 at 300m and I got lucky with the same at 700m all with the standard SAUM.
Reamers, dies etc are readily available as is load data.

But if you have an itch that just needs scratching- go for it

Yeah neck turn as the shoulder becomes the new neck. Just run into my full length, trim, turn and form with a soft load first time round. I’ll be keeping the reamer for all my future barrels another got fitted this week. I get them from Pacific tool and gauge, Manson, and JGS depending on their work loads. Took maybe 6-8 weeks from ordering to delivery.

Getting a bit off topic, but read a short article on the .220 Redline aka .22 SAUM - 75gners at +3900fps is a serious long range unit!

Just wondering wardy, does yours look similar?
By all accounts, it's suppose to be more efficient than the saum parent case. According to R Sherman, the same velocity can be obtained with less powder used in his case design.
Have I got an ich, might have! I'm always interested in wildcats that are efficient (or not) but do like to try something different. Time will tell.

i would have been interested if i didn't already have a 7RSAUM. Mine should have a 8 twist barrel in it sometime this week so i can have a crack at the Sierra 183gr SMK's.
