None of your rifles (except the folding thing) are light, you should be use to the weight!!
That is true Seddo but in the car it is a pain in the arse!

Glenn
I've been thinking of a build to use as a out of the car rifle. I have a Tac30 i can use so needs a calibre that will be efficient out of a short barrel.
How short?
I run 26" on all my varmint guns!

243 running 65 grainer!

I'm right there with you Trev!
I had a 24" 300WM, the new one is 26" and the difference is noticeable when you shoot oit the window!

Ouch Scott!

So you are getting a HMR? Lol!

With a 20" barrel muzzle blast will be a problem!
22BR with 50 grainer?

A br or ppc case might be a winner, not many benchrest barrels are long. Maybe even a 6x45. I’ll play around with QL and see what I can find.

I like the first 2 and that is true short range benchrest barrels are only 21"- 22" long!

For a spotlighting gun I like point and shoot and tell 6x45 is just a rainbow!

I’m tempted to get Luke to open up a 223 bolt and run a 6.5 Grendel. They are not that flat with 123gr projies but I’ll have to run some numbers on the 95’s. I have a ptg dbm that tales ar15 mags for years, it might be a good combo.

95’s at 2800-2900. Not the same as a 6ppc with a 67 at 3300+

I arrived home 2 weeks ago.

Last week I loaded some rounds with 8208 and 40gr V-Max for the 20PPC.

I was mainly looking speeds nodes with the MagnetoSpeed.
I shoot the gun in while I do it to get it close. Checking for accuracy is done without the MagnetoSpeed.

I fired all 3 shots and cleaned it, 4 patches!
Speed was ok. The first was slow on a new barrel but the next two speed up and we're close.

After a clean the first shot was slow and the next two quicker. Did not clean just shot the next 3.

The next 3 were pretty good.
The first two were close speed wise and the last one 20fps faster which made it go wide and high!
I will clean it and try again this week but by all accounts it will get 4100fps with formed cases!

The groups will close up once the barrel settles down.

It is awesome to shoot!
No recoil you can see bullet hits through the scope and FLAT!

why don't you reset your string? who needs shot counts in the 50's! Its funny what different people see when they look at the same picture. I went straight to the shot numbers to see the velocitys for the holes.

I really need to pull my finger out and do some development with my 20PPC.

I took the 20PPC out for a shot the other day and have to say it is everything I wanted and then some!
First shot at a critter was 403yards, head shot, second shot was 415yards, head shot!
Seen the bullet hit, awesome!

I did some more load development with fully formed cases with 8208.

No Pressure!
First shot was on a clean barrel.

To say that I am happy is an understatement!
I set out to build my perfect varmint gun and I think I have achieved that.

It still amazes me how fast and efficient this caliber is!
The damage is just spectacular!

Has to be some and I would say you actually have a lot to reach those speeds.
None would mean the bullet is still in the case after you pull the trigger
