We shoot out of a mates dual cab. Four windows and four of us. Firstly he bought something like the big iron(not exactly the same) which i then used as an idea and made another 4 custom ones with improvments. His shop bought one has now been modded the same as custom ones. They work an absolute treat, even the shop bought one was a big improvment on trying to just poke it out the window.

maybe dont cat half way through the noodle- try it out a 1/4 and then maybe 1/3 of the way through the noodle- will keep more of the padding under the rifle and away from the glass.stinkitup wrote:Hey JP
So there is enough protection from the noodle to look after the glass? sounds sweet in my price range

do a web search for "dog gone good" bags and see their window bag

a mate made up a mount that screwed into the rear view mirror frame when the mirror was screwed out-
This was on an old 40 series Land cruiser ute so there was only 2 mounts needed.
another mate uses a big bag of seed on one of the factory made/brought door rests- it sits between the window and the rest and provides kind of like a large front bag type rest. All his paddocks are lazered and flat so there is nopt much worry about the seed bag bouncing off- might need and ocky strap for a rougher place to hold it in place

Hi All
I still believe that shooting off the bonnet with a big heavy sand bag under the front of the gun and your hand under the rear of the gun is the best option as you can control the rifle at both ends and be more accurate. when you shoot off these rests only the front of the gun is supported and you carry the back end. thus it is to hard to be steady and pull a good long shot. take your time be quiet and get on the bonnet you will make a better shot.
