Re: 110gr ar2208 308win
Sorry guys i wasn't ignoring you all i just got a lot busier than expected.
Thanks everyone for your input it really is appreciated.
I questioned my mate over the load and managed to find some data and he wants it loaded.
If it was me personally i would probably look at the recommended ADI powders.
Thanks again for your input.
Cheers Bob

If your going to reload to anyone's spec make it perfectly clear they are totally responsible for whatever happens (and have witnesses).
On the other hand, if you reloaded to a safe published spec would they even notice? (I'm assume it's a hunting application, but am likely to be told otherwise )
Other than that I have no idea on that combo...

It's an obituary and/or defence please if the requested load blows up.
A genuine defence if you followed published data, and somehow it went wrong. In this case, it's something other than the ammo.

I love that last lineGatekeeper25 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 9:23 am I haven't used the V-Max but I run 46.4 gr of 2208 behind the Sierra 110 HP in my .308 Sako
Haven't measured mine but a mate runs the same load in his at around 3100fps
One hole groups at 100m and as others have said, very impressive splat effect.
Cats are very allergic to this round

Re: 110gr ar2208 308win
I used to use these in my 308, but couldn't get the velocity out of a compressed load of 2208 that I got out of 2206H and 8208. If you are using it at night, 2208 gives a much more impressive fireball (and smoke cloud) than 8208, and this used to block me from seeing the hits when using a spotlight. If (when) I go back to this bullet, I will stick with 8208 powder.
Re: 110gr ar2208 308win
Great info here. Thanks guys, been looking at exactly this combo. Only got a dribble of 2206H left and loads of 2208
Just need to get my hands on some vmax’s

Can’t help with the .308. I did load some up for Yass last year in the .300 Wby.
Never tried them on rabbits but they were pushing 4100 fps. Would have been devastating. Should be ok in .308

Re: 110gr ar2208 308win
BM8208 is what I used. For some reason I have had good luck getting it to work when its pushed up to pressure. Velocity usually good too and man it throws so nice.
Re: 110gr ar2208 308win
Brad,
I have found the same thing with 8208, it works best at pressure. I have a friend shooting the 110Vmax with 46.5 gr BM8208, very accurate load in his Pro Hunter.
