110gr ar2208 308win

Post by Shep25 »

Ok guys has anyone used AR 2208 with 110gr hornady V-max in 308?
Looking for load data but there is nothing in the ADI data for this combination.
Loading for a mate and these are the materials supplied.
Thanks for your time and help.
Cheers Bob.

not sure about a pill that light,but i run 45.8gn behind a 155gn pill,my mate runs 45.5gn behind his.
and i run 46/46.1gn in my omark.
id look up a few other powders to see what they run as minimum to max.

I’ve only run the 110gr Vmax in a 300WSM. Personally I think you need to video the first rabbit shot with the 308.

Same - only used them on the odd occasions with a .308 Norma Mag.

Impressive terminal splatter though.

I worked up a load of 48.5gn AR2208 with a 125gn Speer TNT HP in my Omark, so likely it would be fine for a 110gn v-max.

use 48g of 08 and work up to 50g (compressed) should get you around 3240fps

I haven't used the V-Max but I run 46.4 gr of 2208 behind the Sierra 110 HP in my .308 Sako
Haven't measured mine but a mate runs the same load in his at around 3100fps
One hole groups at 100m and as others have said, very impressive splat effect. :D :D
Cats are very allergic to this round

Why is that Trevortio, cause someone posted it on Facebag, nothing wrong with 2208 and light projectiles in a 308.

I was just going on the fact that ADI list data for 5 of their powders with a 110gn pill and maybe one of the five they list might do better than the one they don't. How stupid of me

Never used the v max but I have driven the 110gr hp sierrias with it. Not much left of what they hit.
Ran much better in 1.13 1.11 twists then the 1.10.
Stiff charge.
Cheers
