Re: Copperhead 20 cal Projectiles
Why?
I don't have a .20 Cal.
And sadly, as time goes on, I have less and less use for one...

What weight Andrew?
Wonder how they would draw down to 19 cal perhaps not enough movement if solid copper

Still watching, is something going to appear, or some highly intelligent comment made ????
Re: Copperhead 20 cal Projectiles
CopperHead are not monolithics, they'll be soft cores with benchrest quality jackets.
In 67gr his 6mm projectiles from my $150 Green Mountain 6x45 barrel almost make me look like I can shoot. They'll be cutting each other.
Cheers...

Look good.
Wonder if the 40gr will work in a 1:12 barrel.

Re: Copperhead 20 cal Projectiles
Andrew just a bit of info for ya, Calhoon offers the 20 cal 40 gr also it ends up cheaper even with currency exchange and postage than buying here

Re: Copperhead 20 cal Projectiles
Ok I had a look at the weather forcast and thought if I do not get my A into gear and get out to try these Projies out I will be in a bloody Zimmerman.
I had a search online for some info regarding a load for the 50`s and came up with a couple of loads from the terrific twenties by Todd Kindler one for BM2 and the other 8208.I Had tried BM2 in the 20 PPC and had some success but found 8208 gave better accuracy and speed
Anyway after throwing some numbers into a Hat I loaded some up and headed out to my private range
I found the 50`s like a 10 thou jump and 2 thou of neck tension but will play with this a bit more.
29 grains of 8208 gave me 3650 fps and no pressure so I will work up from there also it was 34 degrees celsius and 31.5 grains of 2208 gave me slightyy more speed but with a slightly heavier bolt lift but primers were not at flat and no case head growth but accuracy was something to work on.
The 40`s where loaded with the same load as the 40 vmax I got slightly less speed so less pressure. The bearing surface is noticeably shorter than the vmax.
I did not try them in the 20VT Bruce but I would be very surprised if they did not work due to the shorter bearing surface.
