Like the look of that MCS-UL ( Ultra light ) stock
AI- approx how long will delivery take??
From what you know whats would the approx $$ be of the Manners MCS-T2A stocked rifles that you posted pics of cost- roughly
I am considering selling a few rifles and getting one or 2 really good ones and want a varminter/spotlighting, a feral shooter in 6.5x55 and my 338 Federal which SC is telling me is not far away.
For the varminter I would like to use a 6mm BR if i could get a rifle that could be garranteed to feed and function 100% of the time.
If I cannot get the 6mm BR I'll probably go for a .223AI with a 1:9 twist.
Same again for the 6.5x55
AI- you were looking at a 6.5x55 AI- how much faster was it going to be than a standard x55 and how many extra grains powder would it use?
If you were to pick between a Predator or a Tac 30 or a Lawton or a Borden or a Sturgeon for an action for a magazine feeding varminter which one and why?
Waht do you guys know about IOR scopes?? something like the 4-28x56 scope - enough magnification to be a do everything scope.

I am a little uncertain on delivery time, but what I have heard they are a couple of months, so quick compared to McMillan.
Price, well the T2A is $595US, add $70US for postage so try that! Not sure what the T4 will come in at as it is brand new design, but it will be very close to the T2A.
The 6mmBR can be made to feed from a magazine with a small modification. It is shown on Richards Custom Rifles website if I remember correctly.
6.5X55AI can push the 142MK'S over 3000fps, but they shoot well at 2950fps so thats where it ends up. Less brass stretch and dont have to ring the nuts out of the case to get to that velocity. I have changed my mind on the 6.5X55AI for now, as I am going for he 7mm/270WSM on the T4 stock.
I have a reamer, FL die to suit reamer, Redding comp. seater and NKdie for the 6.5X55AI as well!!!
As for actions, the Surgeon would be nice, but for the extra price and hassle over the Stiller and Lawton I would not worry about it! Picking between Lawton an Stiller... Flip a coin... I went on delivery date on my next action. Lawton was 3-4months and Stiller 2-3months, so I went for a Stiller TAC300 action. The TAC action come in black black or black, where the Lawton comes as stainless!
IOR scopes, from what I have read good stuff. I am very tempted to try one, but the scope for this new rifle must have 100MOA of adjustment and be in the mid 25X magnification. The 4-28 is also near $2000US.
I will be going for a Nightforce 5.5-22X56 NXS, either with MLR reticle and mil adjustments or the NP-R1 reticle and MOA adjustments. I want zero stop on the scope as well, which maybe be a problem!
If you can afford it, Badger bottom metal is very good as it allows you to use the Accuracy International magazines!

Mine was $620 shipped too. No special deal - USPS isn't expensive for something as light as a stock. Just make sure you're not getting it sent by an expensive courier!bushchook wrote:Trevort ,
You must have got a special deal on freight . Got a quote on the same stock this morning and it was US$575 plus US$160 freight . Sort of takes the gloss off things a little .

Same stock , same supplier . Can't see why it should cost US$160 to get a 5lb package here myself .
Have since heard that standard McMillans without graphite don't like high temperatures anyway .
Steve and Don at Wild Dog are sending me one of their thumbholes to look at . Their tactical stocks have a high percentage of graphite and all the "fruit" as standard . Cheaper to me than a "bells and whistles" McMillan and nice to buy local .
