Any way I went with the CZ527 classic. When I picked one up the stock fitted me like a glove, the action felt solid, and over all it just felt right so I fell in love and HAD to have one!
Any way I spent the best part of a week visiting various gun shops looking for a CZ527. After fruitlessly going to three different gun shops I called Safari and they had some (sadly in 223) in stock.
Initally I wanted to get the heavy barrel (ok, varmint if you must) but once I got my greasy mits on the Classic I had to have it so I worked out the deposit details, and picked out a bipod, a set of dies, a spare magazine, and a 100 pack of 39grn blitzkings.
Five minutes after leaving the shop I got a phone call from the shop. Bad news, they said Olin wants $100 more for a 204 ruger
For some reason those 20 cal tubes must be more exy to make 
Although to the credit of Safari they did kick up a stink with Olin about it and they made sure that I got a rifle with a really Gucci stock
I then went home and immediately filled in one of those oh so painful PTA's and put it in the post first thing next morning.
I later went to my usual gun guy and got him to order me some remmington 204 brass, which I put full a full length die and trimmed while waitng to get the rifle for a measurement from the lands.
Fast forward a few weeks and I was still umming and ahhing over the glass so I took the plunge and went for a leaupy VX-III 4.5-14*40 with a varminter reticule.
Any way last Friday I got that wonderful bit of yellow paper in the mail, and my leaupy was due in the post from the Optic Zone on Monday, so I decided to hold off.
As normal I found a "sorry we missed you" card when I got home on Monday so I was straight on the phone to the courier company, which assured me it would be delivered the next day when someone would be home. Well no it didn't.
The scope did turn up the next day though
I managed to knock off a little early so I was straight out to pick up the new shootin' iron. At the time I didn't know that they had gotten me an awesome stock so I was pleasantly suprised when they opened up the box for me.

As you can see the stock is pretty flash, it just feels so warm. The bluing is deep and rich.
The mini mauser action is nowhere near as smooth as my Tikka T3 (in 243 of course) but comparing a Tikka push feed to a CZ mauser CRF is like apples and oranges I guess. That and I need to break it in properly.
The leaupy sits well on top and feels quite balanced. This is also my first rifle with a bipod.
I spent last night rolling some ammo for the CZ. Because it was my first time using Hornady dies I had some trouble adjusting the seating die, which resulted in four squashed shoulders. I did my usual 'ultra accurate OAL measurement", where I seated a pill out way too far and chambering it . Turns out my length to the lands is 62.67mm. Length of the magazine is 60mm, and usable length was 59mm.
I then loaded up 20 test loads, using load data from Hornady, ADI and "uncle nick harvy". I loaded 5 each of 25.5, 26, 26.5 and 27 grains of AR2206H with a Federal 100 primer.
I cant wait to get out to the range and have a shot!
