Re: .270Win loads for 130gn Hornady SST AR2206H
Something you need to be careful about here, is that AR2206H is identical to H4895, not IMR4895.
Different powders from different factories - IMR 4895 is made in General Dynamics' Valleyfield Powder facility in Canada.
And load data is not 1:1 interchangeable for the two 4895's.
BTW, Richard Lee's Modern Reloading has the same Start/Max loads for H4895 as macca gives.

Interesting. I'm sure I was looking at a chart listing both the IMR and H as being the same. Will check again.Gadge wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2017 6:41 pmSomething you need to be careful about here, is that AR2206H is identical to H4895, not IMR4895.

Suffice to say I've loaded them conservatively.

ADI 9th édition 2016,
130gr. Hornady SP.
AR 2206H start load, 42grains,2782fps, 44,700 CUP.
Maximum load, 45grains,2922fps,51,000 CUP.
Not the highest velocity loads but still usefull.

Gadge, thanks for the advice.
I had to go interstate to get a decent powder for 270Win. At least it was a bargain!
Too bad no-one local stocks decent projectiles. Will have to order from elsewhere.
