25-06 load suggestions

Post by Gnome »

I'm acquiring a new savage in 25-06 and Not looking for high speeds but rather good load/s that will get me out to say 3- 400 yards on the small vermin up to and including goats and pigs and if the opportunity should arise a fallow/red.

PM me your address and Ill send you up some projectiles, only 100 gainers but they will do both varmints and medium game, they are some that I have left over from my tests in the 25 Camel. :D

Gary runs a 25-06, I am sure he will have plenty of loads that work both light and heavy projectiles.

Welcome to the 25 club, a small club of very distinguished members.

Not totally sure  I'll have to go do a little digging into the cabinet tomorrow, but from memory I'm sure there's 2225, 2209 and 2217 in there. Considering a bottle of 2213sc. ....why's that?

Out of the powders you have available, 2209 is the pick, will be good for most projectiles, especially those on the lighter side, now if you have a nice long barrel and are going to run heavies, say 120gn or there abouts, 2213sc would be a good choice. Me, I would just stick with 2209, a very versatile powder. :D

Hey Chris, Did the SIL ever screw that barrel into an action?

I have 2213sc if you want to try some before you buy, I run it in the AI swede.
