Cleetus,

I don't bother to mark the brass, I just keep it in seperate lots in MTM ammo boxes labelled accordingly. When shootings over I just pop the empties back in the box for that tube. And they don't get mixed up.

If I have a few shells that are a bit suspect I mark the base with a coloured Artline texta to distinguish them, it seems to last for a few firings before needing remarking and the colour can be seen in the writing imprint on the base. Might work for you........

Cleetus,

Use black Textra on the base of the case and give it a good 'rubbing' in, the ink goes into the embossing and stays there for a very long time.

use an ingraver to mark the base of the cases. You only need to make a small X or simular.

I tried to keep brass separate for a couple of 222s. Best way ultimately for me was a file nick on the rim which helped the temptation to get sloppy in the separate but equal business. pogy

I own 2 270 rifles 1 is a bolt action the other a pump action. the easiest way i separate my brass for reloading is that i buy two different brands of brass that way i use one in one rifle and the other in the second rifle. that way i only have to neck size them and they still work it may cost a bit more to get organized but i think its a better option cheers rob
