Yep this weekend was 700 yards, almost no wind and dull light conditions, so can't quite make out the mirage. First stage having a cracker for the first 7 shot's, hadn't dropped a shot, then 5 5 4. Not sure what happend there. Second stage started well again but thought I saw a bit of left or right wind right up at the targets but guess that it actually wasn't there. Doh, dropped 5 pt's when shouldn't have dropped any where near that many. At least I shot a big dog fox on the way back from getting firewood this afternoon, one to the head on the trot through the trees from about a 100 away.

if this shit keeps happening, this club will close.
we're lucky if we get 5 or 6 shooters most sundays.
its getting worse.

1 MILE bugger me that's what 1600 yards isn't it. that ain't easy with a 308. Didn't know you guys shot match rifle up there. So you guys only get 5 to 6 most days, bugger, we are a bit the same in the middle of Rep season as half of our club go to a lot of queens and prize shoots.

just googled it 1 mile = 1760 yards.
A mile is a LONG way. Even a 1000 yards is long way, hopefully will be at the nationals in 6 weeks time and get to shoot well at 1000

RIGHT so every body on the same page 1 mile is not 1000 yards, ;) 1000 yards is 914.4 metres and it's a farking long way to shoot a bullet ;) AND we all hope when we do shoot 900 m or 1000 yards that the wind is steady or not blowing at all.

Umm yeah I have been hearing that from mates who were down there though it didn't seem to stop the BRADLEY'S. Was hoping that was going to push Jacinta up into A grade but alas I still will have to deal with her ;) all in all she's a good kid just don't like getting flog'd by a 13 year old girl mind you kinda helps that her old man is a pretty good gunsmith.

The pair of Bradleys did alright in South Aust the other weekend, and yep, she is a bloody good shot and her old man is a good gunsmith, he does my work now. :D
