Jeff H rang as i walked off the 18th this afternoon. The boys, and girls, shot 600 IBS today and he tells me young Sofie Neilson cleaned them all up with her 6BR and put down a nice 2 incher apparently and a 50.xx score as well.
Dave good to see you have been bitten so quickly. That 53 extra yards beyond the Fly target and the darkish blue center aiming mark make it near enough to impossible to see bullet holes. If you do see them, when the conditions allow, you most likely are in the 8, 7 or 6 ring. Not where you want to be lol. Unless of course they're all there.

Either way with the re introduction of the 600IBS you are going to see myself and very probably JR back shooting. I will be at the next match on the 29th with the 636 to see if i can still remember how to shoot something that doesn't detonate into a mist of fur or feathers.

for whatever reason, such as all the planets aligning, more arse than class and total luck etc etc !!!

whilst their are many superbly accurate 6mm projectiles, depending on the variable preference of individual barrels, the new 105 tipped BTHP Hornady match projectiles LOT 2160685 (shown above ) seem to go ok at 600 yards !!,

although as has been said many times - one group may not be repeatable and does not make an aggregate.

That looks alright to me.
Not much vertical and I am guessing you haven't done a lot of rounds through that 6mm yet.

Guys,

As TZ said, we shot our first legit 600yd match, was an interesting day, we had 8 shooters for the whole day, which was good, and yes, the LG's got cleaned up by a teenage girl, go Sophie. DG, you might want to warn the young bloke he will have to lift his game for Narromine.

seddo

until recently I had never used hornady 6mm projectiles.

I purchased the 105's intending to use them for fire forming and club matches. they were also readily available, and at the time, a very low price.

surprisingly, they were 'fat", measured up well and were much more consistent than I expected.

I have never seen such a long bearing surface on a 105 grain 6mm projectile.

between 300m and 1000yds they shot great, but it was obvious that they dropped noticeably more than other popular 6mm projectiles.

I will post a comparison photo later today.

105 vld Dave.
Glad they go well.
I have had good success with certain batches of A max.
Might give the BTHP a run.
