Nice disguise mate, like the way you are making us hang on till its finished before we can see the stock. So you used just under half a pound of devcon for the bedding job.

Re: My new fly gun build and a nice fluke as well
Update;
So dramas aplenty with this stock. When we tried to get the action out of the bedding the whole rear left hand side of the stock, near the bolt release, blew out in 7 or so pieces. There was a crack on the inside of the inletting that devcon found its way into and formed a nice little hook that coincided with a piece of action that didnt have enough release agent on.
Five days of slow arraldite later and im left with this.
Still needed devcon in the sides so we made a wood action blank and used it. Quickly knocked up some action screws and threw it together unfinished for the Batemans bay fly after 12 rounds of load testing.
At the bay i was fireforming hydro'd cases and came 5th.
Left it and shot Wagga and came 8th. So the girl has some potential.
Anyway back into the mill as i needed to lose 251grams out of the stock to make LG Fly.
This reduced its weight by 320 grams so got 70grams of two-pac to apply.
Next i made up some lead weights to fill in the holes.
Now i can shoot it as a heavy or a light gun. The weights add a full 2kg to the stock weight
Off to a mate of mines tomorrow for some clear two-pac and im hoping some of the damage to that area of the stock will be less noticeable.
Ill post some pics when done.

Is it stable after the repair?
Dumb question, you would get rid of it if it didn't

Pity about the stuff up there Chappo, still just remember that chicks dig scars.
Nice repair too by the way, hopefully it wont show up too bad after the finish job.

Pity to have to glue the stock but......I do know of another glued up stock that shoots fclass and has smoked some very expensive rifles with fancy non glued stocks
I like your weight system I am thinking of something similar on my fopen savage as I need about 2kgs to make 10kg. Thinking a bit of box shs under the stock full of lead keep centre of gravity nice and low too. And maybe do a fopen and a heavy gun one.

Update. Got the stock back from my mate who did an awesome job on the 2 pac.
Lead weights installed in the rear
Lead weights installed in the front
She weighs up at 22.5 pounds now or just a shade under 17lbs with the weights removed.
Close up of the repair job
I still love how this timber finishes up
