I went up to 27.4gr this time but fell short of my target, the best one was 4985fps. So close, I'll have to try again, I can't live with being that close. I had 2 of each charge plus a few to discard as the first shot over the chrono. I had 2 go through the same hole at 100y doing 4916 and 4921fps, it's a shame the pressure is too high for the brass as it shows promise. I might have to try lapua brass, there was some reports that Norma brass can be a bit soft.

Same. Norma brass is "soft" compared to lapua (and Winchester...)

If 5000fps is want you want to achieve you really only need to turn 5 cases

I'll try adding some more powder if the primers stay in, if not I'll turn up a few lap cases.

Stuart Elliott (BRT) designed one these back in the 1980's, but the case was slightly shortened.

A mate in Adelaide here has a 20 PPC and can hit 4400fps with a 39gn Sierra.

If you really want some speed out of it try 8208 powder. That will do it.

Of the available 220 Russian brass, Lapua is the strongest.

Thanks for the advise Brendan, I'll turn up some lapua brass and try 8208. I have only put a few rounds through the 20ppc barrel, I'll pull that out after I'm finished with this one.

8208 seemingly the wonder powder for so many cases.
