Many moons ago I picked up a 19 calhoon hornet barrel, stock, and bottome metal. As its turned out I have been able to import the original action I hope to have next month.
The fella fired 3 rounds before pulling the barrel so they could be used to head space it again. Now a couple of fellas have said I don't need them as the barrel is already head spaced to the action just torque it up to the receiver.
Any thoughts on this, Glen, Tony anyone I wish he had put a small punch mark on the under side of the barrel & receiver.
This does not qualify as a build/buy using the camel formular its a re assembly

Does the barrel have a shoulder to butt up against the action or an extractor groove machined into it so it can locate on the bolt if so I would suggest you just screw it in tightly and try a case.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Gary.
Gary, it has the extractor groove cut into the barrel face as per normal CZ hornet. Forward of the threaded section at the shoulder it has a slight taper, bevelled might describe it better. Also centre of the barrel is the Calhoon etched name, either side of that is th number and on the other side the calibre making the etched name
dead centre so it should screw up pretty well. Think I will drop down to Glens and get him to screw it in, that way I can show him where the big rabbit warren used to be when we were kids and ferreted that area, might be still there i'm sure the neighbours would be bothered by the boys letting a few shots go in the evening

Times change mate when I was 17 the local plod would drop me off out near Blacks Quarry at Coldstream with my single barrel H&R, always cost me a bunny on my way back home but that was fine only had to walk one way.
Tell me we live in a better world I dare ya
