Nightforce BR scopes for varmint and spotlighting
20 dasher is about 2 weeks away. I would like to try it in 300 fly shoots for a laugh but it will be a fox spotlighting and varmint rifle first.
Is the nightforce BR range suited to the task?
https://magnumsports.com.au/255/278/640 ... 32x56.html
was thinking about the 8-32 sightron as the other alternative.
This NF is at the absolute top end of the price range for me

Re: Nightforce BR scopes for varmint and spotlighting
I think it would a great varmint scope. I found the nightforce cross hairs not the best when illuminated as it flared a little on the cross hair more so when all you have is 2 red eyes spotlighting and a bit fine non illuminated . During day found it an excellent varmint rifle scope.
I use a Nightfore 5-15 x56 NP-2dd on my heavy barrel 204 spotlighting rifle and love it. My fav spotlighting scope but don't believe it as good as a normal plex during day.
So summing up I would say if you want a good( spotlighting daytime Varminting ) scope go a Plex in what ever scope you fancy ( get a Range type scope to suit that purpose) or go the Nightforce from Magnum sports and have a scope that will do Range, spotlighting , daytime varminting but not necessarily the best suited for each purpose.

Trev I've tried almost every scope available
I still have my night force 8-32 bench rest np2 reticle , I find I always shoot more consistent when using this scope over anything else , this is largely because the reticle draws my eye to small targets well and my confidence in the scope holding zero too , yes there big but if you want to hit small things a long way off I'll take these scopes and this reticle any day over scopes 2.5 times the price that I've owned

Yeah, I don't think you could get a better or more solid endorsement that one from a fella who has not only owned but also used a variety of top end scopes, and who by all available evidence is also a bloody good shot.trevort wrote:mistit wrote:Trev I've tried almost every scope available
