Pay attention to the OP. I think he is looking for a Marlin fishing app

Good pickup Trev,
I have 2 months before the season kicks off big time down here, I need to be flying my drone pretty good by then as I want to be able to take off and land out of the cockpit of a moving game boat. Keep practicing hey.
Cheers

I have been tempted to fly out and around dads yacht at the lake but always think hmm what if hahaha.
Good fun though aye!
Put floaties on it.
Had an RC float plane I built, dunked it a couple of times. Just rinsed out the receiver and put in the sun to dry and all was ok. Quad may have a bit fussier electronics though. All good fun.
Ol55, that is a nice bit of gear you are flying
If the boat is moving why do you need the quad to take out baits? Or for another use?

Rather than a drone for flying over water consider a RTF (Ready to Fly) foamy. You can get an all foam Vampire electric ducted fan around $100. All you need is batteries and a transmitter. You can hand launch it rather than use the retractable landing gear.
I had one and knowing it wouldn't sink made me a lot more confident when flying over water. Should it plonk into the water (controlled crash vs plummeting) there's a good chance you could slowly taxi it back to shore (or boat) for recovery.
You'd still be up for some camera gear but it wouldn't be that expensive.

Fly up the warm current to look for marlin
Dont want to put the baits out with it just want to film all the goings-on from the other side of the jumping marlin looking back at the boat, might also be good on a Spanish Mackerel bite.
