I bought an Anschutz 1517 DHB from one of our forum members (thanks Ned) and am extremely rapt in the rifle - top of the range in 17 HMR's but it is definately worthwile spending a little extra on a quality rifle.
You won't end up with a switch barrel CZ - it will be a CZ that you can have the barrel changed on - unless you know what you are doing a screw in barrel will need to be headspace checked every time you screw another barrel in. It will also have to be re-sighted in each time. I doubt whether it would end up being any cheaper to build it than buy a new Anschutz anyway.

Good decision I looked real hard at the cz varmint and was advised to buy the sporter by a gun smith in Ballarat I asked why, the answer it will shoot as good and better quality ballanced rifle. He is an aproved warranty person for cz rifles (so he tells me) Brother has a heavy barrel marlin with a laminated camo thumbhole stock he ordered fully beded looks great but my cz will still shoot as good with just the trigger job done to it. Brno model2 22. cz hmr 17hmr, cz 223, T3 varmint 223, win lever 30/30, 7mm rem mag,35 Whelen rem 7600, rizzini priemer sporter U/O, beretta field U/O. + Brothers cdl 224, sako thumbhole custom barrel 22/250, sako 30/06 and a couple more browning U/O and not to forget his Marlin HMR

It must have been an impersonator. I dont think he has ever considered price a limiting factor before.

Rinso, unless you Want to tell my i'm wrong, i reckon the money i have spent so far (apart from the T3 swede sold for $100 less without even mounting a scope the week after i bought it) has all been on quality stuff that was worth the money.
Like Michael Schumacher would beat me in a race if I had his Grand prix car and he had a v8 commodore but I'm sure the winning margin would be worse if I was in a commodore too, if you follow my logic!
Love your work guys, DrG thats the second time I have had a LOL moment at one your posts at my expsense!!!
Tell me what ammo yours likes if I dont have mine I'll bring some

you might want to check out the anshultz as well mate
There was a dealer price deal offer from the importer on the AHTZ recently and the pricing on their sporter in HMR was close or better than the CZ.
From what i remember it was going for a couple of months the deal.
I'll ask my dealer mate if it's still on if you like.
If you want to get a 20M zero sorted for the HMR as a start
I can get you downstairs onto the pistol range during the week if you want
the guy who I told about you lever emailed me- he was tyre kicking
