Help needed - which .22 air pipe

HEY,
Looking at getting a .22 cal air pipe in the near future. Torn between the reliable German Weihrauch HW77K Blackline and the Gamo (BSA) Dynamix.
Have read reviews on both but not sure which way to go.
Will be used for rabbits on very small acreage and possibly FT down the track.
PCP will mean less recoil on scope but not sure if that outweighs the reputation of the Weihrauch.
Any thoughts or help gladly accepted.

Personally, I would go down the Springer path for now. If you can shoot a springer, you can shoot most rifles. It is also a self contained unit; pick up the tin of pellets and you're good to go.

The Dynamax is a good rifle with several drawbacks. Have repaired and serviced quite a few. They don't have a gauge and the MMC cocking can be a pain. The Gen 1 mags have cycling issues and a replacement BSA mag will set you back about $90. You'll need some sort of fill system; SCUBA set up @ $600+ or pump at around $500. And lug them around if you go hunting (left in the car of course).

Both are very accurate. The Dynamax benefits from a tune down in power and is LOUD. Head for the Springer for stealth.

So, ifn I wanted to use the one gun for FT and rabbits would I be handicapping myself in FT by going .22 cal? From what I'm reading .177 would be better for FT but on rabbits it may be less than ideal (head shots only).
I've already got an LG400 in .177 but I doubt it will be that great at FT. Currently used for UIT air pipe comps.

Not sure if I can wait that long.
I get the itch and nek minute BAM.
Nothing used in .20 cal that I can see.
Might just bite the bullet (so to speak) and go a .22 for rabbits and have some fun with it at FT. Lord knows I'm not going to be competitive.
If I just focus on rabbits and FT as something for shits and giggles how do the different brands stack up?
Weihrauch I'm guessing would be close to top. Walther wouldn't be far behind. where do Daisy and Gamo fit in?

My 97K still to find a wrabbit but the mynahs love teh 177

At a guess you will see a couple of 0.20 cal guns at the FT Nationals, but .177 in sub 12 fpe rules the roost due to the flatter trajectory

hey Dash. I've rolled more bunnies with my hw97k 177 than any other air rifles I own. I don't recommend body shooting a bunny even with a 22 springer

Only ever shot one rabbit with a springer. Can't remember the brand (was cheap). It was a .22 and was shooting Prometheus pellets. Took one to the chest and was down for the count. Would only have been 20 yards though.
So the sub 12 fpe is relevant if I want to be considered for international class/events (assuming I was good enough) but I can shoot open springer with any cal. Do the .22 cals suffer from speed wobbles similar to the .177 at higher velocities?

All pellets suffer from speed wobbles/spirals when they travel at over 900 fps to various degrees. The German springers are generally set at 13-15 fpe and should be wobble free. Pellets also suffer the same fate if travelling too slow.

My HW77 will put pellet on pellet at 30m when tuned at 10.7 fpe (745 fps for 177). It will shoot like a 410 at 7.9 - 8.1 fpe; so I found out when I left two preload washers outby mistake when I performed my service and lube 3 weeks ago.

The pic with 4 rabbits on a fence and a wooden stocked HW97K was mine. As are the ones with the laminated blue stock. The former was a 22 cal tuned to 11.6 fpe and blue is 11.7 fpe in 177. All buns head shot out to 48m. That 0.22 rifle and I have shot sub 8mm groups at 50m on several occassions.

There is a saying Dash, "Beware the man with one gun".

A sub 12 fpe rifle will make you eligible for two classes; International and Open. It will also make you selectable for the Australian team. Next year's Worlds is in Wales as I understand. And England the year after? The only limitation for the open class is a sub 30fpe rifle.
