Hi guys,
i may not have made my self clear enough, what i meant was after you patch out the solvent, and the barrel is free from it, you then get a clean patch, soak it in hoppies, then slowly pass it through the barrel, then i get another large patch and plug the chamber end so the excess hoppies doesn't run back down the action while standing in the safe.

I would not recomend leaving it like this for long term storage but if your only leaving it for a month or so it will help clean the barrel a bit better, of course you will need to run a couple of clean (dry) patches through it before shooting it again.

i have done this for years with my BR gun and it works well, i always get a little more rubbish out when i patch out before the shoot.

Pete.

I bought a ProShot 1 piece and a basic bore guide.
just a question though, the little stick pointing out the side of bore guide - is it meant to slot down into the gap where the bolt handle also goes? I was wandering what it was for, but the bore guide I bought is too long for that, does that really matter?

G'day Radar welcome to the forum.
Is the bore guide blue aluminium with white nylon end fittings with a brass pin with knerling on it?
If it is then its the same as mine.
The brass pin can be turned and it will loosen off. Insert the bore guide, then slide the pin up to the bolt recess and slot it into place as you would the bolt and tighten up the pin. Finger tight is ok. You may need to keep a little pressure on the back of the guide while tightening up the pin.

Hope this helped.
