Accurising a Mauser
Yeah yeah - enough from the peanut gallery - its my rifle.
Sooo does anybody have the PT&G Bolt lug lapping "Attachment" for a Mauser 98 (Large Ring)?
If so would they lend/hire it to me/do the job for suitable recompense?
Does anybody know how else I could lap the locking lugs with a bare action?
I also would like to True the face of the action - that I cant do though along with squaring the bolt face - open to suggestions.

Re: Accurising a Mauser
I watched Adamjp lap the lugs on a Zastie 85
He used valve grinding paste
I would give it to a competent gunsmith as you can very easily remove to much off the lug with detrimental effects on the primary extraction

Haha yeah Gary,
I have heard the odd rumble of disenchanted visitors
Kickin,
Very very generous offer, will take you up on that.
Due to work however, it wont be soon.
The action will then be off to Adamjp for his application of cerakote.

Re: Accurising a Mauser
I'm sure dad did the lugs on the swedes just with paste. But I have feeling you want to square up both mating surfaces etc etc
