Webley Raider 10 FAC. Help.

Post by New to 223 »

Hi guys,

I have introduced a mate to the wonderful world of PCP,s, funds were a little tight but he's opted for a new Webley Raider 10 in .177 cal.

Any tips to help him along the way, what pellets seem to suit the Walther barrel, if we need to turn the power down, is it easy?

Trigger creep, what are the standard triggers like?.

I have been shooting PCP,,s for 35 years or more but know nothing about the Raider 10.

Thanks in advance.

Ah N2223 who actually has a 222REM. Wind the damn thing back to approx. 850 fps for starters. Triggers are 2 stage adjustable and are easily adjusted.

You have had two BSA Hornets, why don't you get him to buy a Dynamax instead. 8) Only catch is, get them to supply the rifle with the BSA magazines. The originals are just troublesome. You already know the ins and outs of the Hornets. The Dyna is almost identical including your favoured CHF BSA barrels. Needs to also be wound back but I have shot a 177 screaming out at 1070 fps which produced one hole groups at 40m (not 39 yards) with JSB Exacts. Very loud at that MV though. There are several on the warehouse shelves of the importer, as of two days ago.

Not sure if it's still available, but Magnum Sports is advertising a NEW Webley Raider 10 in.177 on Used Guns for $330 + $30 postage.

That's pretty good buying I thought.

G'day Andrew,
By the time N2223 gets it down to Geelong plus all the interstate transfer and redtape, he will add about $100-120 to the advertised price. That put it at RRP down our way. Just gotta be aware to add all the hidden costs to an interstate transaction.

N2223. If your mate has been playing with your collection, he'll be very disappointed with the clunky bolt system on the Raider. See if you can find a side lever AT44 (Webley & Hatsan are the same company) or spend an extra $300 and get a Kral Puncher. They come in Bullpup, Carbine and Sporter configuration. Pretty much based on the Evanix Blizzard and Rainstorm action. Yes, they are in the country and are imported by SH Shooting.

Thanks for the link - as a novice about to purchase a Webley Raider an amazing read if not overwhelming !

Couldn't afford a more upmarket PCP and was worried I had bought something I would regret.

Having read your tuning information it gives hope I have something to work toward .
