Wearing out a barrel
After trying 40zmax in my 22z47 L with less than spectacular results I decided I would stick to the 55gn vmax load and stop mucking around eating barrel life.
So I just bought 100 40 Gn nbt and 50 45 Gn ACP.
Mistit 2206h ok for light pills?

Yeah Trev I found it better than 08 , 08 would not give me the same velocity in the improvedtrevort wrote:After trying 40zmax in my 22z47 L with less than spectacular results I decided I would stick to the 55gn vmax load and stop mucking around eating barrel life.

Re: Wearing out a barrel
Trev if the gun is shooting with the 55 vmax I'd maybe try some 40 b/tips at max velocity, just shoot one at a time through the chrony until you get to what you consider max should only take a few shots then shoot a 5 shot group at 300 if they don't shoot forget it , I pick 3 bullets I no kill well and use this method, if I can't get one of them to go that easily I start to get concerned, , 1.5 or a bit over at 300 yds is acceptable

Re: Wearing out a barrel
Mark I bought the wrong contour barrel. I'm just mucking around safe in the knowledge that if this burns barrels as badly as I suspect I will have done all the experiments by the time I order the new barrel. I'll load a few up and try them at the missedathon
