Jake wanted to try out the rifle. So took some of the fire form loads, 32gn Zmax, 18.3gn 2207, Rem 71/2 primer. Bolt lift is firm.
His first 5 shots using this rifle. MOA squares on target. Did OK, better than me . Bruce

Funny how this family of small capacity 20 calibre cartridges give and keep on giving. Nice one bruce, not only looks bloody good, but shoots well.

Thanks Camel. The 18.5gn loads are giving a bit of a tight bolt lift so will probably stay lower. Will be interesting to run them over someones chrono at the Missathon.

Bruce, check case length and trim if necessary.

Checked, there ok. The ADI brass may be a bit thicker, 18.5gn is about halfway up the neck in fire formed brass.kickinback wrote:Bruce, check case length and trim if necessary.

May have to back off a bit.

How is the neck thickness maybe gripping the projectile a bit much, kickin will be able to tell you what the case neck should measure

Bruce, see how much powder will go in the adi case I gave you. Should fit around 19grn from memory. Will check chamber size and my neck thickness tomorrow.

Great reports.
May just have to build one now on a Sako A1.
Have you made a few shells up on different brass to see if they prove to be more accurate or less sticky.

Big G, only usegd the ADI 223 brass. I will do some more testing
with the fire formed brass. Will be interesting to put it over a chrono at the Missedathon. I'll load it as high as possible with easy extraction and good accuracy and the velocity will be what it is.
Sako and VT, nearly as good as a CZ and VT.

Re: CZ 527 20VT on a budget plus DIY stock
Have been looking for a scope for the VT and someone offered me a 4.5-14x44 Zeiss Conquest, the older model, at a good price.
So did the deal and mounted it up. Very nice .
Have never been happy with the width of the cheek piece but wanted to wait until I had a scope I liked on it. No use having a custom stock that doesn't fit.
Attacked it with the hand plain and belt sander then down through all the grades of sandpaper. Took about 4-5mm off.
Decided to refinish the whole stock and give it an oil finish following the wood whispers advice.
Still a few coats to go, hasn't got the depth to it yet but it will get there.

That still looks bloody nice, and probably would if you finished it in sump oil.
