Lynx Rifle Scopes any good?

Post by The Raven »

Opinions on scopes are fraught with bias but I can't help but notice the continuous marketing of Lynx Rifle Scopes. So, other than preconceptions doe anyone have any first hand experience with them?

No, I'm not in the market for any new scopes but I am intrigued by Lynx.

Has anyone ever used or bought one?

I've looked through a few of them. They remind me of Sightron scopes, externally and feature wise there are many similarities.

The new ones don't fare well in the value for money equation.

I had one a few years back - it was faulty & sent it back for repairs , it was returned as "repaired" but wasn't so sent it back again. I think it eventually was sent to South Africa & was repaired properly . After that no real problems . I wouldn't be purchasing any more unless the "dealer" has a gross personality re-incarnation.

What stopped me from buying one when I was looking was the lack of adjustment for what I wanted.

I have one of the 20x42 Lynx scopes, which I have used on my Omark44 in 308 for Fclass, great stuff. Now it is going to go on a Tikka TX3 Lite in 308.

i have two 20x lynx/tasco snipers.

both around 10 or more years old-no problems with either.-they have been used extensively for LRBR and f class with repeated winding up and down of vertical adjustments.

optically the mil dot crosshair is quite thick (but remember they were originally a military contract scope for the USA) and the optics are very good but not in the class of nightforce etc.

also available in 10x and 16x, all have considerable vertical and horizontal adjustment range with precise and smooth parallax adjustments.

all excellent value for money IMHO.

cheers
