Re: Boots
I run around in a pair of Zanderlan Boots in the snow and water, feet are always nice and dry and warm too, not cheap but well made heavy duty type of boot designed for hiking. I got these for $150 new of some fella on AHN, retail for around $450!

Re: Boots
That's never fun. It's a bit like jumping across creeks and muddy depressions, it looks fine until you land.matang wrote:Mud from Saturdays Hamilton hunt and drying them out next to fire. Tried to cross a creek to cut a fox off that dogs were on about 8 metres across was only a bit below knees and because I had the top of boots tapped with plumbers tape and gaiters on and moving quick no water was getting until the last metre I took last step went up to my neck and was dog paddling. F@#k it was cold took my breath away . Kids thought it was hilariousThe Raven wrote:I hope that's camouflage and not what you walked through last time you wore them.

Re: Boots
Wouldn't help you for this weekend Trev but generally Rocky boots have been good to me and only take about a week to get delivered.
Check out the link below there's a pair of size 9.5 waterproof and insulated boots that would work.
Perfect for standing round waiting for hounds to bring deers to you. Feet are nice and toasty.
I've got some spare lightly used Rocky boots (various models) at home but my clod hoppers are bigger than yours (11.5).

Re: Boots
Went to four Bogs stockists. Only one had the hunting boot. Not my size. Last ship was Aussie disposals and was leaving in 2 days. Bought these from not a lot of options

Re: Boots
As with most things, buy once cry once comes to mind, after 26 odd years in the Army with some of the worst issued boots along the way. . .
I cannot recommend Danner desert tfx rough-out gtx 8" boots highly enough.
Reasonably light (no featherweight, but light enough) gore-tex lined and unbelievable comfort out of the box.
I now refuse wet feet as an option (water will come over the top of the boot of course - but same for all boots) even in snow and sludge . . . . . But thats Emily's tale hahaha

Re: Boots
Yep, after last week I'm done with wet feet. I was eyeing off Micks Danners and I'll be getting a pair myself as soon as possible. Those sealskinz should keep me out of trouble in the meantime though.

Re: Boots
I've been using Ariat ATS Hiking Boots.
They've copped flogging and come up roses.
From mud in the dry dock to cattle/horse yards in the rain without drama.
