Re: 2016 Southern Cross Championship
G'day all, I am sorry to say that I wont be attending the SCC this year, as good as it is, the rain over the last few weeks has stopped me working more than a few days, I just wont have the time to make it up there as I will have to spend the next couple of weeks catching up with the work that I have had to delay. I now have 63km of tracks to make through some virgin mallee country gunna be on the tractor full time for a couple of weeks at least, probably more
Thanks to Dave and Just Jeff for the offers of the use of their equipment, sorry that I am going to miss catching up with the rest of you mob, and meeting some new faces as well.
I hope you all have a great time up there, the weather is perfect for you and you get some good scores under your belts.
Famous words to end with..................Shoot Straight Ya Bastards.

That is a shame Mark. From talking to a couple of the guys they really enjoyed your visit last year and were looking forward to a catch up this year.

Re: 2016 Southern Cross Championship
Shooting would have started today, does anyone have any news or gossip so far?
The weather is looking good, though a little cool.
Where is everyone staying for the weekend?

Re: 2016 Southern Cross Championship
hi rod
jacko, jeff h, trev and simon etcell were burning some powder today.
yesterday during setting up, conditions were near perfect. no shots were fired.
conditions today, 10-15 knot gusting northerlies, which were not kind to those testing loads.
back to the coal face tomorrow, jacko has swapped barrels and we expect more the visitors to drift in, probably after lunch.
the good thing is no rain, no fog.
see you out there.
they are staying in the aerodrome cabins.
cheers
dave

The first dental is going now and the weather is perfect. A slight but consistent breeze, sunny skies. Beautiful.

Shitty and overcast out here, no wind though just a gentle whisper of a breeze. Hope the weather stays nice and clear and calm for you blokes.

Re: 2016 Southern Cross Championship
hold offs of 8-12 feet were not unusual, sometimes more, sometimes less.
gusting and pulsing SW winds from around 10am, before that very gentle southerlies.
the boys (the scorers trev and jeff) at the airport caravan park might be able to chirp in with some results.
if they get home from the golf club chinese in time to see this.
apparently similar predicted tomorrow.
cheers
dave
PS due to demand, interest and likely attendance, next year the SCC has been changed to the 3rd weekend in august.
this will provide approx. 2 hours more daylight which will allow an extra 2 details.
on the Thursday , all going to plan a GUNPRO 600yd BR or 1000yd BR event will again be scheduled to supplement the weekend SCC.
more details later.
PS PS I would like to thank all attending competitors for the cooperation, patience and good humour shown today
