dropped the hammer on the third part

Post by trevort »

of my 50th birthday gifts.

The rifle is on hold awaiting the action. I have the rangefinder

This morning I selected a three knife set to be made by BR Merchant Knives, time frame up to six months. Can't wait to show you.

and I couldn't resist a small work of art that he called a reject (so it was $230 instead of $350) that I will pick up when he makes a sheath.

If only my ebay knife collection were worth anything I would be selling them soon

b r merchant knives on facebook.

I'll take a photo of the little one when he has the sheath ready. The knife selected as the meat prep knife was already made. It has deep maroon micarta handle so the large camp knife and the skinner are to be made to match.

If you remember my crappy knife I got Bimbo to make a sheath for at the last missedathon, well it has never been sharp since I tried to sharpen it as a kid and removed the bevel/edge. Kerriet got it to usable.
3 mins on Bruce's belts and four or five strops on a leather and it is shaving sharp.

I'm excited

He said if I am going to use them a lot and not just look at them synthetic handles wont warp or crack so chose micarta instead of wood but the little wooden handled one is farken pretty (and razor sharp)

Love the shape of that skinner Trevort. An excellent way to mark the milestone.
