Hi I have just bort my first air rifle a feinwerkbau 300s I'm after some tips on shooting whats the best pellet for these guns most shooting targets and some pest birds also best way to clean barrle thanks

There are people on here with more experience than me but I shoot a couple of those felt cleaning pellets every now and
then to clean the inside of the barrel my go to pellet is JSB Exact in 8.4 gns although those FWB 300 do shoot the wad cutter
style of pellet well.
They are a good quality well built air rifle.

Best way is to use a pull through. The felt pellets fly way too quick to do a proper clean. Send me a PM and I'll sort you out.

The 300 was designed for 10m target shooting and had the leading technology of its time with the double sledded system rendering it with less recoil than some of the new pcps.

Wadcutters pellets for 10m & domed for other use. Don't be put off that it's a target rifle, some proponents of this gun use theirs in Field Target comps with great success; at national level.

Hi yes the one from Tassie. Ok thanks I useds a 300 when I was a kid lots fun and cheap. OK so what brand off pellets and weight to try ? Are they used in silhouette read that they have trouble with the ram target at 45y

The guys have trouble dropping the 40m plus targets at times. From memory, they are only about 6 fpe at the muzzle so will be minimal out there. If you're just plinking try some H&N Hobby. Cheap wadcutters that will also do the job on mynahs, starlings and sparrows. Try some JSB Exact Express around the 7.5 grain for anything further. Better BC.

Yeah, mine has trouble with Rams, especially in a bit of wind, as at 45m it has a trajectory matching a rainbow. So I use my BSA hornet for silho. My FWB300 is used for 10m paper more than anything else. It does well with the JSB exacts, but I mostly use the RWS Meisterklugeln wadcutters (the 8.2gn ones).

As far as cleaning goes, I put a lead solvent through it when I first got it, and have only patched it since. I send a felt pellet through it first, then I use a rod with an "eye" slot and feed the patch into the eye after I have fed the rod from the muzzle end. One wet patch (with a tiny bit of barricade or G96 or the like), then a dry patch. I do this for storage reasons as much as anything. Works for me.

Oh, just remembered, I was told not to fire them with an empty chamber. Something about the piston not liking the speed it gets to the other end of the chamber at.....

.... I'm not sure about this, but I'm sure someone will come along to confirm or dispel.......

that applies to any spring piston or gas ram rifles. Also tends to kill seals.

I always hated cleaning rods in airguns.They do break!
A 300S isn't going to lead foul the barrel because it doesn't spin the pellets fast enough.

All you need is to clean out any lubricant from a rebuild and any moisture.

I like Q/C felt pellets but I always put a real pellet behind them.

Don't use firearm solvents designed to remove powder and lead fouling because they will affect the nylon piston buffer and breech seal.The Beeman Cleaner/Degreaser was actually a toilet cleaner!Worked great on airgun lubes!

The 300S has a steel piston ring.

If you insist you can use the FWB flexible rod pull through or the OTIS KIt and Caboodle which was the Beeman one.

I used to use the big spray can of G96 to wipe down bluing and remove finger prints.

It was great and I loved the smell!!!

NEVER spray it on directly!!!! You do not want it anywhere near the compression chamber of a spring or gas spring airgun and ESPECIALLY nowhere near the intake of a PCP or any pneumatic!!

Just spray a little bit on a paper towel and wipe it over the blued surfaces

Of course never use silicon products or anything containing silicon on your airguns!!!

That's a good idea.

Squirt a little on a felt pellet with a real pellet behind it and fire.

Simple as that!

I use some innox on a rag/felt pull through - it'll leave a light coating behind & the volatiles evaporate off by the time its used - plus it'd be in front of the pellet, so never had that diesel as long as i've used the process.

Look what showed up today I am very happy such a nice gun thinking a scope would be nice one day to. Testing this weekend
