Now who is showing their age? Next you'll mention using Morse, or worse Semaphore.

I went for a look at the local range a couple of years ago. They still used a couple of old hand crank/party line phones. I think the wire was strung along a fence line on insulators, just like an electric fence wire.

I guess that makes sense then. What happened if you put your first and second sighter through the black dot ;)
makes you wonder why they continue with it still though. So it means your possible best score is a 105.

Oh that's great mate good on ya. No shoot for me the wife runs an endurance ride out at Burraga so I am the ride base radio link, this Saturday is 300 yards for me. Hopefully I won't get rain'd out but right now I hope that I do as we need the rain more than I need to shoot. :(

I was going to drop 300 yards now that I haven't had the chance to shoot all the ranges for the club championship but since I am now going to go up to Brisbane for the Nationals they shoot it. Oh well was going to concentrate on 500 600 800 and 900, guess I'll have to add 300 to that as well.

Curan +1 +1 +1

Yep I agree, I have beaten the current club champ, current MRDA optimus festival winner in bad windy conditions the only other F classer on that day to beat me was Geoff Willis the current NSW and ACT Queens winner and only by about 2 pt's.
Got told at the Canberra queens by one of the best F open shooters that he likes shooting in the rain as it gives a better wind indication by looking at the direction the rain is falling.

Well as usual went to my local fish and chip shop for my pre range bacon and cheese burger, step out of the shop and exclaim What a perfect day for a shot. Not a breath of wind, get to the range and it's blowing a hard right to left probably 20 km's an hour and gusting.
Anyway I was second down and was doing good for the first 5 shot's then it changed and stuffed the second half of the first stage, 4 5 5 5 5 finished with a 53.1 bugger. The wind did lessen when the other F class shooter's took to the mound, putting in 55's and 59's.
Second stage the wind had lessened again and shot a very pleasing 58.4 so in the end couldn't get close to Geoff Willis but fell only 2 pt's behind Graham Willis and Jeff Eppelston
