G,day Shane
not sure of the hardness of the stainless , i know its 304 ,which i think from memory is around 90/92 rockwell ,304 i find easier to machine ,drills and taps nicer then 316 ,
what is the hardness of the average rifle barrel ?
Thats a top looking rod set up man.A mate just bought a lathe and didnt have anywhere to put it.Its now in my shed.Have been playing for the past month. They are a awesome tool. This one is a Hercus, made in south australia.
G'day irish murphy
Mate you will enjoy the lathe ,just so many thing they are capable of ,the more you use it ,the more things it can do !!!
Have fun ,and keep playing around with it ,just make sure you wear safety glasses when using the lathe ,don;t want to sound like a nag ,but it bloody hurts to get steel slinters dug out of your eye
