reloading press info

Post by LoneRider »

guys,im looking at getting a new [second hand if possible] reloading press.
it will be mainly just for full length sizing.
i was looking at a rock chucker or an orange crusher....
is there anything as good i should be looking at ?
$ are an issue,or i would buy brand new....

cannot be a turret press. [like the old super simplex]

If just FLS a Lee classic cast O frame press is good value for money.

I run a couple of presses and they all do a good job, it just depends what your budget is.

Lee Classic Cast - Snipetac cases
Hornady LNL - what i use to load everything else on
Forster CO AX - what i'm setting up all my new dies on

I use a lyman crusher and its fantastic. Anything from seating bullets to neck or full length sizing and even hydraulic case forming. Solid as a rock. I like the fact it toggles over as well. With a collet die it means your not varying neck tension, and when body or full length sizing you get consistent shoulder bump each time.

Any of the O frame presses form the main reloading gear companies will do a good job, I only use a Redding T7 turret press now for forming and F/L sizing. Have a soft spot for Simplex gear, and an aversion to alloy frame stuff after hearing of and seeing several breakages, but haven't run into any good solid steel frame presses breaking from normal use.

The Lee Classic Cast Press is not a non ferrous alloy.
