I have a lilja and Pac nor both great. Any of the better names will be fine. More important to find a good gunsmith than barrel in my opinion especially for varminting. Barrel choice is for the long range target specialist. I would stick to stainless and get it creacoated to match. Maddco are Aussie and do good Barrels. I would avoid TSE. Sure they do good Barrels but have heard too many stories of bad ones as well

Ive heard 1 or 2 bad ones about Maddco as well and that wasn't for supplied barrel sit was for one they supplied and fitted. Everyone has a bad day.

Any of the popular barrel manufacturers will make a good barrel, get the one you prefer and all will be good.

Well Pacnor seem to get some good comments so will look seriously into one of them.

Does anyone know what barrel profile is closest to a Sako heavy Sako vixen profile?

I have a TSE and a Madco both clean well and are accurate

Marcus Madco do a Sako Varmint profile as well as the sporter to suit the L461

You would be hard pressed to pick the difference from a Sako factory barrel.

Here is a print of a sako vixen profile

Lilja have a list of factory barrel contours on their website.

Im sure any barrel manufacture would be able to write a program to make the profile if they didn't have it.
