I didn't get a chance to finish the cheekrest, it's adjustable, kind of like a mini version of the ones on my other stocks.

Whitemeat I'll PM you later regarding the bigger Howa.
Looking great GregT!

Looks like the neat looking length adjustable stocks are out for NSW from what little I have seen :/ bugger lol

Adjustable or collapsible/folding/removable?
Provided of course that the adjustable does not go below minimum requirements

No idea lol

Cleavers just list the adjustable ones as prohibited for sale in NSW...

A little guide for those in NSW....

Illegal
Image
Folding
Image
Collapsible (you will note the one in earlier pictures does not have the takedown lever).
Image
Collapsible may be used in NSW but must be pinned or otherwise FIXED in length so they no longer collapse.

Legal
Image
Adjustable - but oh so heavy.
Image
Not Adjustable, but very strong and light.
Image
Adjustable.
Image
Adjustable.

The rules of thumb that I use are;
1) How much adjustment? If under 70mm it is going to be OK.
2) How is it adjusted? If it needs a tool to adjust then it is going to be OK.

It's all good and I took it that adamjps post was to compliment your earlier post, appreciate both responses as I'm not used to this M4 / AR buffer / butt stock type thing and was actually pretty pi$$ed that cleavers said that the adjustable ones are prohibited in NSW

And by adjustable, I mean the ones that can reduce the overall length of the firearm as opposed to the adjustment of the cheek piece, etc

Darn it, someone tell me what the guts of the story was. Is that a longer & heavier barrel?

If thats what peels your banana.

Johno, I think the short version was...
223 and 204 now in 20in ultralight, 22in sporter and 20in heavy sporter (what they call 'bull barrel' is heavy sporter or 461 Varmit weight).

222 available soon, probably with a 1:9 twist, probably with the three barrel choices.

6.5 Grendel available mid 2016, unknown twist, assuming the three barrel weights (big assumption).

7.62x39 available late 2016, standard twist, assuming three barrel weights (bigger assumption).

The video is the smallest of glimpses into the future from Howa. Probably won't be until SHOT in January for real confirmation.

Adam,

Many thanks mate, I sure hope they don't go 1-9" for the 222 rem, I reckon the vast number of shooters would prefer 1-12", CZ and Sako were 1-14"

Johno, I'm only suggesting 1:9 as all their 223 barrels are 1:9. Not sure what they run on the 22/250 short actions so that might be a worth a look.
