Re: The heart of the new toy.
in the white means normal steel not yet blued, you can colour case harden that I believe
I dont thnk you can colour case harden stainless but I could be wrong, it might have happened once before.
And I will repeat the question asked earlier, looks like an action for a LRBR Heavy gun, why did you select that action for the cartridges chosen?
No commentary on your choice, just interested

Re: The heart of the new toy.
It will be setup for my f open gun at this stage. The weight limit of 10kg allows the use of a fairly solid action. The main reasons were it was available in rblp it was stainless and the price was right. Yes it is very long for the use of those 2 cases. It leaves options for further down the track if I want to run a 280AI or a magnum that needs the long ejection port.
I would have liked a bat but the wait time and cost made the decision a no brainer.

Probably a cerakote colour to suit. Hmm, then add some gold inlaid engraving on a bling walnut stock.trevort wrote:in the white means normal steel not yet blued, you can colour case harden that I believe

Now I just need to get it working that well at long range.
